Jinncaster

Jinncaster

This weapon appears almost like a crossbow, though instead of strings and a drawing mechanism, it features a small glass case. The jinncaster is a specially designed weapon which harnesses the power of elemental crystals into focused blasts of energy. The jinncaster is a longarm that requires two hands to wield.

If the wielder scores a critical hit while using an acid crystal, the target suffers the corrode critical effect (1d4 acid damage). If the wielder scores a critical hit while using a cold crystal, they must succeed a Fortitude save (DC equal to 12 + wielder’s Dexterity modifier) or suffer the staggered critical hit effect. If the wielder scores a critical hit while using a fire crystal the target suffers the
burning critical effect (1d4 fire damage). If the wielder scores a critical hit while using an electricity crystal the arc critical effect activates (1d4 electricity damage to closest creature in 10 feet).

Elemental Crystals

Elemental crystals are small crystals which are infused with a single drop of blood from a genie and are traded in bulk from the Elemental Planes to the Material Plane in exchange for either
favors or treasure. There are four basic types of elemental crystals which can be used in tandem with jinncasters: acid crystals (which are made from shaitan blood), cold crystals (marid blood), electricity crystals (djinn blood), and fire crystals (efreet blood).

Each crystal has 20 charges, one being depleted with each shot from a jinncaster, after which it disintegrates and must be replaced. The type of damage done by the jinncaster depends on the crystal used.
